RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday said that the enemies of Pakistan are trying to ‘weaken our resolve’ but they know they can not defeat the country.

“Our struggle for peace should not be mistaken as a weakness. The enemies of Pakistan are trying to weaken our resolve but they know they can not defeat the country,” Gen Bjawa said while speaking to the attendees at PMA Kakul’s 137th long course passing out parade.

The COAS added that Pakistan is a peaceful country and wants peaceful and strengthened relations with the neighbouring nations and that the country would not allow extremists to operate within Pakistan.

Gen Bajwa also spoke about the people of Kashmir saying that Kashmiris have right to self-determination and that Pakistan will continue to politically and ethically support Kashmir’s cause. He added that the country’s quest for peace should not be mistaken for its weakness.

The army chief congratulated the cadets saying that “today, you have started your career with the toughest force in the world”. He added that the Pak Army understands its responsibilities well and it is due to the valiant efforts of the forces that the country has eliminated terrorism.
