CJP emphasises on rule of law, its importance in development

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Friday emphasised on rule of law and its importance in the economic development of the country.

He was talking to a 26-member delegation of law students of Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law, Lahore University of Management Sciences, headed by Dean & Professor of Law Professor Dr Martin Wilhelm Lau, which called on him as a study part at the Supreme Court on Friday. The CJP briefed the delegation about the Constitution of 1973, the constitutional mandate of judiciary as one of the pillars of the State and the fundamental rights enunciated in the Constitution.

He underlined the need of education and its significance in society. He emphasised upon the students to show integrity and honesty on every walk of life to lead a prosperous and peaceful life. Later, he answered the questions of the participants in an interactive session and shared his experiences. Professor Dr Martin Wilhelm Lau thanked the CJP on his own behalf and on behalf of the participants for sparing time for them and sharing legal experiences and knowledge.
