Protest unjustified, says Ahsan Iqbal

Author: News Desk

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal Thursday termed the ongoing protest of the Tehreek Labaik Pakistan (TLP) “unjustified”, saying that the government had fulfilled the terms of the agreement reached with the Faizabad protesters.

“The government has presented the Raja Zafarul Haq report in the high court, besides sacrificing the law minister to avert the violence,” a statement issued from Beijing quoted the interior minister as saying.

He said that to create problems for the masses was against the spirit of Sunnah and added that Khatm-i-Nabuwwat is part of every Muslim’s faith. The minister said that such protests were responsible for putting the country on the FATF greylist as they promote a negative image of Pakistan among the comity of nations.
