ISLAMABAD: Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) has announced the repatriation of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) of North Waziristan from Afghanistan starting from April 30, 2018.

According to FDMA, about 4000 TDPs have returned to Pakistan during Phase-1 of the repatriation process while 2000 returned during Phase-2. However, they were accommodated in Bakakhel camps, a private news channel reported.

To facilitate their smooth return, the FDMA has advised TDPs to register with the local political administration of North Waziristan as soon as possible.

More than a million families of North Waziristan were displaced when the operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ was launched by Pakistan Armed Forces against the militants.
