Poor state of Ganesh Park irks DC

Author: Naeem Ahmed

SHIKARPUR: The Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza Shah on Tuesday visited the Ganesh Park and expressed his displeasure over broken benches, broken cradles, faulty water shower and poor state of wash rooms.

He summoned Chief Municipal Officer Iqbal Imtiaz and Engineer Muhfooz Ahmed, and ordered them to take measures to refurbish the garden.

He instructed that the Park, located at centre of the city, should be reserved for families only.

He revealed the ‘awful’ condition of Shahi Bagh and said that he faces extreme difficulties to fulfill his responsibility towards the city due to negligence of higher authorities.

Imran Brohi, encroachment inspector, complained that he could not continue anti-encroachment drive as he has been receiving threats by influential politicians.
