MANSEHRA: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has selected 6000 kanals of land for the construction of airport in Tanawal area of Mansehra district.
“I am optimistic that the entire process of acquiring land and payments to landowners would be completed in time as the CAA has specified 6000 kanals of land for airport and federal government availed an amount of Rs450 million for its acquisition,” Deputy Commissioner Iqbal Hussain told reporters on Friday.
“The Revenue Department has been extending all possible assistance to CAA in choosing a suitable piece of land for the airport. Land of two more Patwar circles was included in it,” said Hussain.
He added that the federal government had already transferred an amount of Rs450 million for the acquisition of 6000-plus land for the airport.
The DC said that the government was also in a process for award of specified land and when legal formalities would be completed payments to respective landowners would be paid.
