KHAIRPUR: A meeting of the anti-polio campaign was held at Darbar hall DC office in Khairpur under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner Khairpur Muhammad Saleem Rajput on Friday.
The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Nisar Ahmed Phulpoto, Dr.Vishno Ram, Dr.Rajesh Kumar of UNICEF, Shujaat Siddiqe member of the anti-polio campaign from Rotary International, and others.
Addressing the DC, Rajput urged the members to spread awareness among the masses about the dangers of the polio virus. He announced that a nine day long anti polio campaign is being launched from March 20th to March 28th, 2017 in the district. He directed the assistant commissioner and taluka mukhtiar kars of 8 talukas to monitor the anti-polio campaign.
DC urged all stake holders to play their role in this important national cause to achieve their targets.
The DHO Khairpur Dr. Nisar Ahmed Phulpoto informed the meeting that they aim to immunize 467,000 drops to children and immunize – using OPD drops – children up to two years old. The injection will immunize children of 23 months and 80 focal officials have been posted to help facilitate the success of the campaign. Phulpoto also shared that all arrangements have been finalized in this regard.
