KARACHI: Khawaja Ghulam Farid Conference will be held at Kashmir Complex under the supervision of Saraiki Awami Sangat Pakistan today. The devotees of Sufi poet Khawaja Ghulam Fareed from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Baluchistan are participating in Farid conference.
Eminent Saraiki poets Aziz Shahid, Iqbal Sokri, Mushtaq Sabqat, Jahengir Mukhlis, Amanullah Arshad, Eshrat Leghari, Riaz Asmat, Shahid Alam, Ghayoor Bukhari, Sajid Sachdil, Shakil Lashari are participating in the Khawaja Ghulam Farid Conference, among others.
Sareiki Singers Sakhawat Hussain, Ajmal Sajid, Adu Baghat, Mohann Baghat, Aslam Kulachi, Nawaz Farid, Azam Lashari, Hameed Faridi, Irfan Hasan, Bina Hasan and Rafiq Sahil will recite Fareed’s kaafis and will be followed by jhoomar (traditional dance).
Scores of well-known orators and intellectuals like Professor Dr Javed Chandio, Justice (R) Shafi Muhammadi, Mushtaq Ahmed Faridi, Nazeer Leghari, Saeed Khawar, Shahid Jatoi and other are participating to paid homage to the Sufi poet.
