Sir: Pakistan has started taking many social problems seriously. But one major problem is still untouched that is racism. Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another. We are living in the 21st century and still there are people making fun of dark skin, make the dark skinned person feel like they’re lesser than us or we are better than them just because we are fair skinned. A dark skinned girl is not accepted in our society, she’s told to use whitening creams to look ‘pretty’. Even Islam has prohibited us from feeling superior over skin color. We should start teaching our kids from a young age that color does not matter so that they will not turn into a racist person one day. Even government should take notice of such racist commercials of beauty products that give priority to fair skin over dark.
