COAS assures Naqeeb’s father of support to obtain justice

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has assured that the army would support all efforts to obtain justice for 27-year-old Naqeebullah Mehsud, who was murdered in a fake encounter by the Sindh police.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief offered condolences to the father of the slain youth and prayed for the departed soul.

Moreover, General Bajwa inaugurated two mega projects in the South Waziristan Agency (SWA). Addressing the local tribal elders, the army chief said the country had undergone in a phase of stability and development after facing difficult times during terrorism and operations against terrorists.

He asked the locals to not allow anyone jeopardize the peace attained at a very heavy cost of blood and money.

General Bajwa stressed the earliest mainstreaming of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) as per the popular aspirations of the local tribes for its development and enduring stability.

The tribal elders thanked Pakistan Army for restoring peace and development projects and assured that tribes stand firmly with the army for the journey towards enduring peace.
