DADU: Around 40 old CCTV cameras have been upgraded to high definition resolution at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
According to media reports, the cameras have been upgraded by using Composite Video Interface technology. This step was taken by the authorities under the new security plan. Moreover, installation of 10 new high definition cameras was under way at the shrine.
It was surfaced after the explosion that out of 48 cameras, 40 cameras were working but there was nothing to monitor the activities outside the shrine.
After the blast, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah issued directives to strengthen the security at the shrine. Moreover, after visiting Lahore, DIG Establishment Amin Yousafzai said that security at Data Ganj Baksh shrine in Lahore should be replicated at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
