Sir: Our electronic media insists on discussing the meeting between the Prime Minister (PM) and the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) despite the fact that the PM elaborately explained his point of view on the subject. Electronic media is persistently insisting on discussing the issue, which the public is already fed up of.

Its high time those in charge at major media houses stopped pestering viewers with matters they have no interest in. There are plenty of other issues facing the country, which are hardly ever discussed. These include problems related to healthcare, the economy, fraud in housing schemes, availability of cheaper medicines, exorbitant legal fees as well as pendency in the courts, children’s nutrition, inflation and a host of other worries.

Sadly, our media remains trapped in a rut, and continues with its inconsequential coverage of matters which are of no consequence to the ordinary citizen.

To make an issue out of this meeting is in the interest of certain political parties. They have clearly acquired the services of the electronic media, which is serving their interests using Lifafa diplomacy. This must not be allowed! The high ups in Pakistani news channels must put a stop to it.
