ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday barred political parties and politicians from ‘self-advertising’ through government project or via use of money from the national exchequer.

According to the ECP, there is a ‘total ban’ on inserting personal images, party logos or names on advertisements of government projects till the general elections 2018.

Moreover, the commission also ordered to remove images and names of ministers, MNAs and local leaders from all existing govt advertisements.

It was also mentioned that political figures should refrain from self-propagation during inauguration of projects and that action will be taken against anyone found violating ECP’s commands.
