Police arrested 454 criminals in March

ISLAMABAD: Police Spokesperson said on Sunday that Islamabad Police had arrested 454 criminals during the month of March including 43 robbers and 128 fugitives. Items worth Rs 73.626 million were recovered.

He said that Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP Operations) Najeeb ur Rehman Bugvi had directed police officers to escalate efforts against lawbreakers and they achieved remarkable success. 25 robbery cases were resolved and the Police took 43 suspected robbers into custody recovering looted items of Rs 2.173 million. Police arrested another 40 suspects involved in 24 street crimes and recovered items of 35.05 million rupees.

Moreover, the Police had detained 113 drug pushers and recovered14.077kg of hashish, 2.8kg of heroin and 3,190 wine bottles.

The Police detained another 33 criminals for their alleged involvement in stolen vehicles and recovered 53 cars and 10 motorcycles.

660 Investigations were completed and their respective challans were submitted in the courts.

The Police apprehended another 87 suspects for possessing illegal weapons and recovered three Kalashnikovs, 84 pistols and 798 rounds of ammunition.

During search operations, the Police detained another 77 suspects.

Furthermore, the Police claimed to resolve five blind murder cases and nine suspects were taken into custody.

SSP Bugvi appealed citizens to inform social media cell of Islamabad Police regarding crime activities. He said that law would be enforced and lawbreakers would not be tolerated.
