KHAIRPUR: Following his visit to different hospitals in Khairpur on Sunday, the district and session judge has sent a report pointing out poor hygienic conditions and staff shortage at the Khairpur hospitals to the Sindh High Court (SHC) chief justice. According to details, under the directives of the SHC chief justice, Khairpur District and Session Judge Sayed Gulam Shah along with other staff paid a surprised visit to the Civil Hospital, City Hospital and Lady Willington Hospital Khairpur. It may be mentioned that Khairpur is home district of former Sindh chief minister Qaim Ali Shah, who had ruled the province for more than eight years and had allocated billions of rupees for betterment of healthcare facilities in the district; however, the visit of the district and sessions judge exposed worst conditions at the hospitals. During his visit to the City Hospital, the judge was told that patients were not being provided medicines. He also visited the OPD and found that no doctor was available there.
