LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday began an investigation of the spot-fixing scandal, which emerged during Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017.
FIA interrogated Khalid Latif and Mohammad Irfan over the scandal on Monday in FIA Lahore office. Both players recorded their statements in front of the agency. Khalid Latif and Mohammad Irfan were asked questions regarding spot-fixing and contacts with bookies.
Two other suspended players, Sharjeel khan and Shahzaib Hasan, have been summoned by FIA to record their statements tomorrow.
The cellular phones and other data of these players have also been handed over to FIA who will investigate the mobile data and applications.
Nasir Jamshed, the other character in a corruption scandal, will also be contacted in London and culprits will be barred after lodging criminal cases against them.
FIA has already written a letter to the interior ministry to put the names of all five suspended cricketers on exit control list (ECL).
