MUZAFFARGARH: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Senator Siraj-ul-Haq Thursday said neither any NRO nor purported delay in the general elections will be tolerated.
Addressing a party gathering, the JI chief that any delay in the holding of general elections would create a constitutional crisis in the country. He said the masses would not allow the rulers seek another NRO. He said the drama of horse-trading that happened in the Senate elections should not be repeated in the general elections.
Haq said the religious parties had joined hands in the shape of MMA and now even a single vote should not go to other parties.He assured the gathering that anyone involved in misappropriation of even a single rupee would not be given ticket from the MMA’s platform in the upcoming elections.
The JI chief said that the doubts in the mindsof the people following prime minister’s meeting with the chief justice were natural, adding that the nation wanted to know the real objectives of the meeting.He said the people wanted ruthless accountability in the country and were anxiously waiting for interrogation of other people named in the Panama Papers, London leaks and Dubai leaks.
The JI chief said that around 150 mega corruption cases were pending with the national Accountability Bureau (NAB)without any justification. He said the land mafia, sugar mafia and drug mafia controlling the corridors of powers had amassed sufficient wealth for their next seven generations.He said it made no difference to those people whether there was civilian rule or martial law in the country because their families were always in the power.
