ISLAMABAD: Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai arrived in Pakistan on Thursday and met Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbassi.

The meeting was attended by Information Minister Marriyumm Aurangzeb, Senator Musadik Malik, Member of National Assembly (MNA) Marvi Memon and State Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rehman.

Malala Yousafzai said that girls’ education was extremely vital and essential. Malala will be staying in Pakistan for four days in her long awaited return after she was shot by Taliban back in 2012.

She will be meeting numerous government dignitaries and will be a guest at the Meet the Malala show in Islamabad.

PM Abbasi and Information Minister Marriyum shed light on the importance of girls’ education and the issues relating to the matter.

Malala Yousafzai was born in Shangla District in 1997. She was targeted by the Taliban in 2012 for asserting her right to education and advocating girls’ education in Swat. She survived the attack and is currently studying in United Kingdom’s Oxford University.
