Man and woman killed in honour killings

JACOBABAD: A man and a woman were shot dead over an allegation of Karo-Kari (honour killing) at village Guhram Brohi near Garhi Khairo in Jacobabad district, in the limits of Dodapur Police Station, late on Sunday night. According to reports, Mehboob Ali Brohi along with his two children was crossing a street when, suddenly the accused, Anwar Ali Brohi pulled his TT Pistol fired straight at him, Mehboob Ali Brohi was killed on the spot while his two children identified as Ayaz Ali Brohi, aged around 02, and Sajjad Ali, aged around 07, suffered serious wounds. Later, accused Anwar Ali Brohi went to his home and shot his wife identified as Ashraf Khatoon with the same TT Pistol she died on the spot. The accused Anwar Ali Brohi has fled away the crime scene. Following up on information, area police rushed on the spot and shifted the bodies to Garhi Khairo tehsil hospital for conducting a post-mortem examination while the injured boys were moved to a hospital for medical assistance. Later, the body of the deceased woman was shifted to District Headquarter Hospital Jacobabad for post-mortem due to absence of lady doctor at Garhi Khairo tehsil hospital, whereas both the bodies were handed over to their heirs after conducting a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered at Dodapur police station against Anwar Ali Brohi and his other accomplice named Mir Hassan Brohi.
