LAHORE: Addressing various delegations here on Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif vowed that he would not give heed to any criticism or negative propaganda, and will continue his “mission of public service” without bothering to reply to trash-talk.

He declared that the “journey of development” would continue regardless of any accusations against him. He said that the pivot of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) politics is the welfare of the masses, and that everything needed for national development and public prosperity will be provided.

“We have worked day and night with utmost honesty and sincerity and the results of our dedicated efforts have started to appear. In fact, political opponents have already given in to the historic agenda and development performance of PML-N,” the CM said. Shahbaz said that conscious people can recognise genuine political leadership. “We have not made any hollow claims nor raised empty slogans but practically served the people with dedication and commitment” he insisted. He said that it is the collective responsibility of all to work for national development and welfare of the masses, because the challenges and problems being faced by the country can only be countered collectively.”It is the need of the hour that the youth equip itself with the latest knowledge and understand modern technologies for ensuring speedy development in the country, he added.

The CM stated that the Punjab government is following a comprehensive program of developing health and education sectors so that the people could get up-to-date facilities of health and education at their doorsteps. He boasted that it is a historic achievement of the PML-N government that it has overcome the energy crisis, and defeated the menace of terrorism. He also assured that completion of energy projects will not only promote industries but will also create new opportunities of employment and exports. Thereafter, the CM took notice of a brawl that had occurred at the Lahore Services Hospital between hospital staff and relatives of a patient, after which one person died. Shahbaz expressed grief over the tragedy and said that legal action should be taken against the persons responsible.
