Pacer Muhammad Asif deported from Dubai airport

DUBAI: Pakistani pacer Muhammad Asif was on Tuesday deported from the Dubai International Airport for failing to provide necessary travelling documents.

Asif was to feature in a tape-ball amateur league in Dubai, but was deported from the airport after being flagged down at the immigration.

Earlier in Lahore during a press conference, the 35-year-old announced that he would be participating in a Dubai-based league tournament.

This is not the first time Asif has been subjected to controversy. 10 years ago, the pacer was arrested for possessing drugs, while he was later banned for five years over spot-fixing in one of the worst scandals to hit Pakistan cricket.
