ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) has congratulated team Islamabad United over success in the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) against Peshawar Zalmi and expressed best wishes for the team.

ICCI President Sheikh Amir Waheed, ICCI Senior Vice President Muhammad Naveed, ICCI Vice President Nisar Mirza and ICCI Sports Committee Chairman Nasir Chaudhry in their felicitation messages on Monday said that winning the final of PSL by Islamabad United was not only a great honour for the residents of the federal capital but it was a source of pride for the whole nation.

They said that PSL had brought international cricket back to Pakistan that has created a spirit of happiness and confidence in the entire nation. They hoped that the international cricket teams would soon start visiting Pakistan.

The ICCI office bearers also congratulated the government, Pakistan Army and the security agencies for making it possible to hold PSL’s last two matches and final in Pakistan as it was not possible without the good efforts of these institutions to hold these matches successfully. They said the holding of PSL final has sent a positive message to the outside world that Pakistan was now a peaceful country and any team could come here to play.

The ICCI office bearers also lauded the efforts of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for organising PSL semi-final and final matches in Pakistan and added that the efforts of PCB have provided good opportunity to the Pakistani nation to enjoy cricket in their own country. They were of the opinion that cricket and other sports not only promoted solidarity in the nation, it also provided good entertainment and generated lots of business opportunities.

They said that PCB should strive to organise all matches of the next edition of PSL in Pakistan that would not only improve the image of our country but would also help in promoting business and industrial activities to achieve positive outcomes for the economy.
