ISLAMABAD: A mild intensity earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale has jolted Islamabad and its suburbs, causing panic among the people.
According to the Meteorological Department, the earthquake rocked Islamabad, Swabi, Mansehra, Bala Kot and Haripur at 10:57am on Tuesday.
The department said in a tweet that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 12 kilometres. The tremors of the quake sparked panic among the people and they came out of their homes. The epicentre of the quake was the area of Hazro near Attock district of Punjab.
