Key TTP commander among six gunned down in Hangu

HANGU: At least six alleged terrorists, including a key Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander, have been killed during a clash between security forces and terrorists in Lower Orakzai area of Hangu.

A sepoy, Matiullah, and a major of the security forces also embraced martyrdom during the clash.

According to details, security personnel were patrolling in the Atman Khel area when the terrorists opened firing on them, hitting Major Mudassar and Matiullah.

The law enforcers retaliated and shot dead six terrorists, including TTP commander Shah Duran. Duran was reportedly involved in a number of terrorist activities and was sent from Afghanistan with the task to target a Nowruz procession in the agency.

After the incident, law enforcers conducted a search operation and rounded up several suspected persons, besides recovering a huge cache of weapons from the suspects’ possession. The detainees have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
