LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has on Wednesday ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan to re-review petition requesting disqualification of Punjab Assembly MPA Masroor Jhangi.
While hearing the petition filed by PP 78 constituency voter Zulfiqar Raza, Justice Aatir Mehmood ordered ECP to review the petition and announce its verdict.
The petitioner claimed that 17 cases were registered against Masroor Jhangvi, while the lawmaker is also listed in the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA)’s fourth schedule list.
Zia added that he had earlier called upon the ECP pertaining the issue, but the commission ‘is not going against the respondent’.
In light of the claims, the petitioner requested that Masroor be disqualified from his seat in Punjab Assembly.
