Aamir to lead Karachi Kings against Peshawar Zalmi

LAHORE: Karachi Kings and Pakistan national team pacer Muhammad Aamir will lead Karachi Kings in the qualifier against Peshawar Zalmi on Wednesday.

Aamir has been assigned to captain the Kings due to absence of skipper Imad Wasim, who suffered an injury earlier in the tournament and makeshift captain Eoin Morgan’s decision to not travel to Lahore.

Shahid Afridi also suffered an injury during Qualifier 1 against Islamabad and would miss today’s fixture.

Karachi Kings were humbled by Islamabad United in Qualifier 1, while Peshawar Zalmi defeated Quetta Gladiators by a margin of just 1 run in a thriller in Lahore on Tuesday.

The two teams would face each other later today for a place in the PSL final, which would be held in Karachi’s National Stadium.

Peshawar skipper Darren Sammy is expected to feature against Karachi. He was seen limping in the field during the team’s fixture against Quetta.
