In yet another twist in the tale, televangelist, anchorperson, politician and former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmaker Aamir Liaquat Hussain joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday.
He announced his arrival during a press conference with chief Imran Khan. Both men were seen smiling during the announcement of their new-found partnership.
The move has gathered mixed reactions from PTI leaders, with some approving and others disapproving Liaquat’s PTI membership.
Former prime minister and political-rival Nawaz Sharif also threw an uncharacteristic taunt at Liaquat-PTI alliance saying that “PTI is made for people like Aamir Liaquat”.
