Won’t allow police to harass Pashtun, Murad assures

KARACHI: Pashtun community has played an important role in construction and transport sectors of Karachi, said Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah adding “They are our brothers and we would look after them properly”.

This he said while talking to a delegation of PPP Balochistan led by provincial General Secretary Iqbal Shah, Sardar Sarbuland Khan Jogezai on Wednesday.The delegation complained that police without any reason harass and arrest peaceful Pashtuns living and working in Karachi.

The chief minister said that Pashtun were like his brothers. “We respect them and they have contributed a lot in construction and transport sectors”, he said adding that he will not allow anybody to treat them discriminately.

He telephoned IG Police AD Khawaja and directed him to redress the grievances of Pashtuns living in Sindh. IG police assured the chief minister that he would personally look into this matter.
