Zardari, Imran two sides of same coin: Nawaz

NANKANA SAHAB: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif termed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairperson Asif Zardari ‘two sides of the same coin’ during a rally on Sunday.

“Zardari and Imran are two sides of the same coin. They are pawns who are disloyal to the public and aim to deceive the masses. Imran went from making a new Pakistan to being in an old one,” Nawaz said during a party power show at Shangla Hills.

He added that PTI Senators stood in queues to vote for PPP backed candidate Sadiq Sanjrani during Senate elections for chairmanship.

Lauding Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government’s performance, the former PM said that the party has initiated development projects across Nankana Sahab and that it has also eliminated load-shedding from the country.

Addressing the rally attendants, Nawaz’s daughter Maryam Nawaz said that Imran and Zardari have made a ‘secret alliance’. She added that soon masks from the faces of ‘puppets’ and ‘conspirators’ would fall off and that the ‘snakes in democracy’s sleeve’ would soon slither out.

PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz also took to the stage to criticise the PTI chief. “No one becomes a leader by abusing others on containers. It takes a lot of effort to become a leader like Nawaz Sharif,” He stressed.
