DG KHAN: Newly elected Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif Saturday urged Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar to investigate the allegations of corruption against him in the Multan metro bus project.

“I invite CJP Mian Saqib Nisar to launch an investigation into the allegations against me under a full SC bench,” the chief minister told a PML-N rally in Dera Ghazi Khan. “I will apologise to the whole nation and leave politics for good if corruption of even a single penny is proved against him in the project,” he said, and regretted wasting of time in ‘dozens of court hearings’ after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) opened a reference against him on the matter.

Taking aim at his political rivals, Shehbaz said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and its chief Imran Khan have continuously told lies during their years in power. “You built neither schools nor hospitals … just wasted people’s time,” he said. “You will have to answer for your lies in just three months,” he said, while referring to the upcoming general elections. “I do not have time to answer the liars … I want to donate all of my time to serving the people of Pakistan,” he added.

The PML-N leader said PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Imran Khan have entered into an alliance to protect each other.
