SRINAGAR: All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman Syed Ali Gilani on Thursday greeted the Pakistani government, army and people on the historic Pakistan Day, saying that Pakistan is a ray of hope for the Muslim community.

Gilani said, “Pakistan is a great blessing for Muslims. It has a strong political importance in the Muslim world and it is a ray of hope not only for South Asia but also for the entire Muslim community.”

He said that unparalleled sacrifices were rendered for the creation of Pakistan and it had proved to be a great blessing for the Muslims. “We should thank Almighty Allah for it,” he added.

The APHC chairman said that the blessed day of March 23 was an important day as a resolution was passed for the creation of separate homeland for the Muslims 77 years ago.He paid glowing tributes to the struggles of Muslim leaders at a time when forces like Sangh Pariwar were opposing and spreading venomous dogma against Muslims.

“It was a time when thinking of a separate homeland was considered blasphemous and the fanatic communal forces were harshly opposing the move. But the determinedMuslim leadership succeeded in creation of a paradise for those who believed,” he said.

Gilani maintained that Pakistan is the only Muslim country in the world that openly supports the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris and helps them on political, diplomatic and moral levels. “It is the reason that people of Kashmir are extremely thankful to this country and they love and pray for its prosperity,” he said.

Hailing Pakistan for its unflinching support to the Kashmir cause, the APHC chairman said, “Pakistan has been established on ideology instead of geography and every Pakistani should realize his/her duty to safeguard its fundamentals and ideology.”

He appealed the people of Pakistan to work for the prosperity of their country. He stressed for cordial relations between Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan, saying “Better relations between these countries will lead the region to overall stability, peace, development and progress.”

The spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in a statement in Srinagar felicitated the Pakistanis on the Pakistan Day and urged them to strive for making the country prosperous and strong.
