BAHAWALPUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Southern Punjab Chapter has demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s immediate resignation from his office after submission of JIT report in the Supreme Court.

Addressing a press conference at Asim Javid Abbasi residens on Wednesday, Coordinator Southarn Punjab Irfan Gardezi, Deputy Information Secretary southern Punjab Slaeem Bhatti and others said that PPP had strengthened under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari, and it would emerge as the largest party of the country by securing seats from all the four provinces in the next general elections.

He said that after the JIT report the prime minister had lost his moral and legal grounds to remain as the premier of the country and should immediately resign from his post. He said the members of the JIT had done a great job by declaring the ruling family guilty of corruption. He also demanded that the names of the whole Sharif family be put on the Exit Control List (ECL). He said that, the PPP also rejects the notion that the current situation poses any threat to the democratic system.
