Wake up pensioners’ associations

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Reportedly, military pensioners association submitted a petition to the Supreme Court over two decades ago to seek verdict for same pension irrespective of date of retirement, and the then PML-N government opposed it.

Practically, politicians consider pensioners as fired cartridges whereas they have a very big vote bank including their families affected by pension. Incidentally, next general elections are shortly after the next budget. Now, it is the appropriate time for pensioners to put up genuine demands to the government.

If the government ignores genuine demands, the pensioners’ associations can use democratic right to tell pensioners not to vote for the political parties in federal government.
