COAS inspects fencing along Pak-Afghan border

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Friday visited Peshawar Corps Headquarters and Khyber Agency.

The army chief was briefed on security situation in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), progress on Operation Radd-ul-Fassad, repatriation of TDPs and uplift projects. In Khyber Agency, the COAS inspected fencing along Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The COAS also interacted with troops and tribal elders. He hailed support of tribal elders for security forces. He assured them that ongoing consolidation efforts would take the current gains towards enduring peace and stability. Peshawar Corps commander and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Frontier Corps inspector general were present on the occasion.
