Abid Boxer still a fugitive: FIA

Author: Mustansar Abbas

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) conducted proceedings on Friday pertaining to the matter of former police inspector Abid Boxer’s protection.

The former police inspector is accused of carrying out extra-judicial killings. He is also alleged to have ties with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Previously the accused’s family had petitioned a protection plea in the court, seeking security for the former police inspector.

Director Interpol Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) revealed that Abid is not present in Pakistan and is seeking safe haven in a foreign country. Furthermore, he informed the court that the previous reports claiming about the absconder’s arrest on February 20 were untrue, as none of law enforcement agencies brought him to Pakistan.

Justice Anwar-ul-Haq has summoned the relevant parties to carry out arguments on March 28.
