Brisbane Roar assistant coach Aloisi gets four-match ban

SYDNEY: Brisbane Roar assistant coach Ross Aloisi was suspended for four games by the Football Federation Australia on Thursday for making “unnecessary and forceful” contact with Adelaide United counterpart Jacobo Ramallo after an A-League match last weekend. The FFA said after taking submissions from witnesses in the players’ tunnel in the wake of Brisbane’s stormy stoppage-time win it was determined that there was physical contact between the two team officials. While there were conflicting reports as to the manner of contact, it was determined that there was contact made by Aloisi that was “unnecessary and forceful” to invoke the ban. Aloisi, the brother of Roar coach John Aloisi, was accused of striking Ramallo in the back while in the tunnel leaving the pitch after the Roar conceded a controversial last-gasp penalty and lost the game 2-1. Brisbane’s Football Director Craig Moore was handed a one-match touchline and dressing room suspension for his heated words with referee Stephen Lucas during the tunnel fracas.
