The visiting dignitary was briefed on the Disaster Management System of Pakistan and role and responsibilities of NDMA. While talking to South African Army Chief, Chairman NDMA Lt. General Omar MahmoodHayatshared NDMA’s vision of a Disaster Resilient Pakistan with the visiting dignitary and highlighted measures being undertaken to realize this vision.
The South African Army Chief appreciated the Disaster Management Mechanism of Pakistan and express his desire to replicate the same structure in his country as well. Chairman NDMA ensured the visiting guest Pakistan’s support and cooperation to strengthen South African Disaster Management System. Both sides agreed on enhancing mutual cooperation in institutional capacity building for swift humanitarian response during disaster situations.
