UN Secretary General Guterres participates in Pakistan Day celebrations

NEW YORK: United Nation (UN) Security General António Guterres along with other foreign dignitaries participated in Pakistan Day celebration on Thursday.

UN Secretary General was welcomed by Maleeha Lodhi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

Guterres, while speaking on the occasion acknowledged that the country has always been on the front line in hosting Afghan refugees.

Moreover, while praising the beauty of Pakistan, secretary general added that Pakistan is a beautiful country and he is pleased to participate in the Pakistan Day celebrations.

While talking to media, representative to the UN said that the participation of foreign dignitaries in Pakistan Day celebration has defeated those who aspire to diplomatically isolate the country.

Lodhi said, “Pakistan has a bright future. And on this day let’s remember those who gave their efforts in making this country.”
