KHANEWAL: The Motorway Police seized nine gallons (270 litres) of liquor on GT Road in Khanewal area, which was being smuggled in a car and arrested two culprits.
The officers of Motorway Police SPO Kafaiat ullah and APO Liqat Ali signaled a Corolla car, No. QHO-478, on GT Road due to lane violation, but the driver of the car, instead of stopping, sped away. However, Motorway Police officers stopped the car after a chase and arrested two culprits named Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Iqbal, both residents of Khanewal.
Upon searching the car, nine gallons of liquor were recovered. Local police was immediately informed after the suspects were apprehended. Later on, the recovered cane of liquor, arrested culprits and car were handed over to local police in Saddar Police Station in Khanewal for further legal investigation.
