FC solider dies in lightning accident

KHYBER AGENCY: A soldier was killed and another sustained injuries when a Frontier Corp (FC) post in Bazaar Zakha Khel area of Landi Kotal was hit by lightning on Monday night.

The forces officials, while confirming the incident, said that the FC personnel of 102 Wing were executing their duties at the packet no3 when the untoward incident took place killing one trooper on the spot. The injured official was shifted to the nearest military hospital. The deceased was identified as Sepoy Waheed Shah and the wounded as Sepoy Noor, the official said.

On Tuesday morning, funeral prayer of late Waheed Shah was offered at FC Headquarters, Peshawar, and later the body was taken to his native village Katlang, Mardan, for burial.
