Father, son shot dead in Landi Kotal

KHYBER AGENCY: A man with his infant son, along with two other persons were killed and 10 others sustained injuries in two separate incidents of inter-group scuffles in Tehsil Landi Kotal.

The political administration official informed that in the first incident, which took place in Prang Dara, which is a remote area of Landi Kotal, a father and his son were shot dead by their opponents. The deceased were identified as Ikram s/o Zari Shah and Ihtesham s/o Ikram.

A woman and a young girl were injured in the firing who were then shifted to the Landi Kotal Hospital for medical aid. The reason behind the crime was stated to be a domestic one. The alleged killer, Shakir Khan was detained by Khasadar force and put behind bars, the official confirmed.

The second incident occurred in Mirdad Khel area of Tehsil Landi Kotal, where eight persons including three women received wounds when a brawl erupted between families over possession of land. The injured were taken to the nearest health centre where one person was referred to Peshawar Hospital due to his precarious condition, the health official told.

Immediately after the incident, the Khasadar troops moved to the site. Two persons from each group were arrested and sent to the lock up for investigation, the administration official told.
