LAHORE: The third and the final day of the coveted PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2018, was held in Lahore at the Expo Centre, amidst tight security and lots of excitement in the air. The who’s who of the fashion, entertainment and media industry showed up in large numbers, to lend support to the prestigious platform. As per the new norm, the fashion showcase featuring nine designer brands, was divided into two halls, where simultaneous displays were held. The participating brands were Khas, Rouge, Rang Rasiya, So Kamal, Fahad Hussayn, Mona Imran, Zonia Anwaar, Republic By Omar Farooq and HSY.

KHAS

Fashion and lifestyle brand Khas, which has in a short span of time, made its presence felt nationwide, was the first to showcase its spring/summer 2018 pret collection. The collection was modern, wearable and subtle, consisting of western cuts that involved V neck sleevless peplum tops paired with loose summery pants, off-shoulder organza floral tops, brightly embroidered denims, and net capes. Off shoulder gowns were another highlight of Khas’s collection, which was rich in hues of mauve, brown, grey, white, blue, pink and mustard.

RANG RASIYA

Prominent lawn brand Rang Rasiya was next to showcase its collection which stood out for its perky florals fused in shades of blue, white, peach and greens. Rang Rasiya put forth a very soft, summery and practical collection that featured cotton summer jackets, satin separates, chiffon maxis and knee-length pyjamas.

SO KAMAL

Steering clear of its spring/summer lawn collection of 2018, the renowned fashion and lifestyle brand, spearheaded by Erum Ahmed Kamal, displayed a collection which was rich in flowy chiffons, monochrome tops, chiffon kurtas and off shoulder floral shirts. A very marketable, wearable and practical collection, that the brand is synonymous with, the outfits were summer ready and distinct in their appeal. The prints ranged from florals to digital, monochrome to abstracts with a colour palette of burnt oranges, maroon, black and yellows. Indeed, a very cohesive collection!

ROUGE

The creative team behind Rouge very meticulously fused pret with luxury, and came up with a something for everyone approach, which I feel was the brand’s strength. I liked how the designers played with the cotton, chifon and satin fabric to display saris, front open shirts and off shoulder tops. For menswear, there were a variety of stiff waistcoats, paired with shirts and pants of contrasting shades. The collection was rich in hues of black, green, red and beige.
