Malayalam actor Priya Prakash Varrier, who became an overnight sensation recently after her song went viral, has been reported to make her Bollywood debut opposite Ranveer Singh.

According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, film-maker Rohit Shetty plans to cast Priya opposite Ranveer in his upcoming film, Simbaa, which is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The report reads the news that Johar wants to rope her in for the film.

“The girl’s role is not so big in the film. But Priya has become an overnight craze with the wink of an eye. Bollywood is interested in her. And who better equipped to consolidate Priya’s supremacy in the arena of cinema than Karan Johar?” a source was quoted as saying.

If the report turns out to be true, this won’t be the first time for Rohit to have a south Indian star in a Hindi film.

In the film that is said to be a remake of Temper, Ranveer plays a cop by the name of Sangram Bhalero. “We have bought the rights of Temper but our film is not exactly a remake. We wanted to take four-five scenes from Temper but we thought it’s better to buy the rights. It’s what we did with Singham,” Rohit was quoted as saying in an interview earlier.
