ISLAMABAD: The court reserved its verdict on Monday after the hearing of former Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar’s alleged asset accumulation case.

The accountability court under Judge Mohammad Bashir conducted the hearing against Ishaq Dar and others accused of inappropriate declaration of assets. The previous court hearing of the case on March 5 summoned three additional accused consisting of National Bank of Pakistan President Saeed Ahmed and two directors Naeem Mehmood and Mansoor Rizvi of Hajvery Modaraba Ltd.

The court reserved its verdict on plea of the additionally accused, against their charges filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The counsel of the Mehmood and Riazvi had filed a petition to the court that their charges were framed and planned as the NAB’s 700-page long reference was vague and unclear about their charges. The court had issued a notice to NAB for its response to the plea.

The NAB prosecutor Imran Sadiq opposed the plea stating it as a tactic to interrupt the legal proceedings.

NAB had filed a reference case accusing Dar of inappropriate declaration of assets contradicting to his sources of earnings in July last year.
