GUJRANWALA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) interim president and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday vowed to bury the ‘nexus between Imran Khan and Asif Zardari’.

“One (Zardari) has destroyed Karachi while other (Khan) has pushed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into darkness,” Shehbaz said while addressing a rally in Gujranwala. “Zardari and Niazi have entered into an alliance against PML-N. However, people are well aware of their nexus because both have done nothing in their provinces,” he added.

Shehbaz said that both Imran Khan and Asif Zardari hurled allegations against him incessantly, adding that he would reply to their allegations by serving people with more enthusiasm. “If another chance is given to PML-N [in the general election in 2018], we will bring every city and village of Punjab at par with Lahore,” he pledged.

The chief minister said that the government will generate new job opportunities for the educated youth and will expand clean water projects to whole of the country. “Performance of Nawaz Sharif is in front of the masses. Major projects initiated by him have already been completed. Now, the decision rests with the people who have to use their power of vote in the upcoming general election,” he said.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the grand project of Jinnah Interchange worth Rs 8 billion. He also laid the foundation stone of the construction of one-way road from Sheikhupura to Gujranwala which will cost an amount of Rs 6 billion.

Addressing the people on the occasion, the chief minister said that the PML-N government had already completed development projects worth 40 billion in Gujranwala district. He also announced to launch metro bus service in Gujranwala.
