LAHORE: A seminar titled ‘Salute to Working Women; A tribute to Working Women on International Women’s Day’ was held on Sunday to pay tribute working women.
A large number of working women along with female students and civil society members participated in event held at Hamdard Hall.
The event was jointly organised by the Women’s Action Forum (WAF), All Pakistan Trade Union Foundation, Awami Workers Party, Bonded Labour Liberation Front Pakistan, HomeNet Pakistan, Labour Education Foundation, Tameer-e-Nou, The Feminist Collective Lahore and Women In Struggle of Empowerment and Women’s Collective. It was said that women were playing an active role in the development of the society. Speakers were of the view that Islam gives equal rights to women.
