LAHORE: A resolution has been filed in the Punjab Assembly’s Secretariat demanding the provincial government to authorise lady police to launch a crackdown on beauty salons spreading skin infections among women. The resolution was submitted by MPA Nabila Hakim of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Notice Branch of the assembly secretariat on Friday. The resolution said that a number of beauty parlours were spreading skin infections by using sub-standard cosmetic products such as face wash and whitening creams. The resolution suggested initiating a police action such beauty salons. The resolution also demanded the government to legislate against factory owners manufacturing fake cosmetic products. The Punjab Assembly is expected to take up the resolution in its 28th session to bed held in April.
