DUBAI: Karachi Kings scored a convincing 63-run victory over Multan Sultans in Pakistan Super League on Saturday, courtesy a dazzling batting performance by Englishman Joe Denly.
Multan Sultans’ decision to bowl first after winning the toss proved a nightmare for the new entrants as Joe Denly (78) and Babar Azam (55) fired on all cylinders to help the Kings pile up a humongous total of 188.
Chasing 189, Multan went off to a good start with 41-0 in just over four overs. The team, however, lost quick wickets in a span of 3 overs and managed to score 125 before they were bowled out.
Karachi’s recent victory has seen the team jump up to second with 9 points, while Multan is ranked third with the same number of points, with the NRR being the only difference between the two teams.
In the second fixture on Saturday, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators will go head to head to improve their rank in the PSL table.
