PUC rallies in solidarity with Syrian Muslims

Lahore: The Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Sunday held a demonstration, demanding the governments of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries to play their effective role to help stop ongoing massacre of Syrian people.

A protest was staged here in front of the Lahore Press Club on the call of Pakistan Ulema Council, in which leadership of Pakistan Ulema Council and other religious organisations while expressing solidarity with Syrian people underlined that United Nations and Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) have failed miserably to stop ongoing massacre of Syrian people. Russian, US and Iranian leadership should allow Syrian people to decide their future themselves. Foreign interference in Syria has multiplied miseries of Syrian people. Enemies of Islam and Muslims have already devastated Yemen, Iraq and Syria with objectives to target sanctity of Harmain Al Sharifain. The clerics also stated that terrorist organisation Daesh is being supported by enemies of Islam and Muslims to wreak havoc in Muslim world.

Leadership of Pakistan Ulema Council including Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Maulana Shafi Qasmi, Haji Muhammad Tayyab Qadri, Maulana Asad Ullah Farooq, Maulana Ashfaq Patafi, Maulana Aseed ur Rehman, Maulana Qari Abdul Hakim Athar, Maulana Zubair Zahid, Maulana Shamsul Haq, Maulana Hassan Ahmed Hasni, Maulana Abdullah Rasheedi, Maulana Abdullah Haqqani and Maulana Mubashar Rahimi addressing the protest demonstration stated that conspiracies are being hatched to create sectarian division within Muslim Ummah. Enemies of Islam and Muslims are creating divisions in strong and stable Muslim countries on account of sectarian grounds to create anarchy and instability in Muslim world. Russia testing its missile technology on unarmed people of Syria and it is a lamentable fact that entire Muslim world is silent on this brutal massacre of Syrians. World powers are supporting terrorist organisation to make havoc in Muslim countries. Russian, US and Iranian leadership should allow Syrian people to decide their future themselves. The clerics said that Muslim world have to get united to safeguard sanctity of Harmain Al Sharifain as enemies of Islam and Muslims have devastated Iraq and Yemen and now Syria is under extreme chaos. Leadership of Muslim Ummah have to take serious action on prevailing challenges of Muslim world.

Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi also announced on this occasion that countrywide campaign would be launched to raise voice for the oppressed people of Syria in aegis of Pakistan Ulema Council.

He also demanded of the leadership of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey to come at the forefront and rescue oppressed people of Syria. He also called for holding the OIC meeting to seek out permanent solution to ongoing crisis in Syria. Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi also appealed to people of Pakistan to come forward and provide aid and assistance to people of Syria on humanitarian grounds.
