Karachi: The Pakistan Express narrowly escaped an accident on Sunday in Karachi after residents alerted the train to a broken railway track. The ragged railway track near Malir Kala Board stop had broken due to the movement of several trains. By waving a red cloth, locals alerted the driver. The driver responded promptly and stopped the train carrying a large number of passengers. Railway authorities reached the scene to repair the broken track and later directed Pakistan Express towards its destination. According to authorities, the breakage of fish plate had occurred accidentally. Four inches of the railway track had broken down while three bolts had sprung out. Preliminary investigations did not provide any evidence of terror attack.
